Dr. Thomas Lowie
Co-founder:
Thomas graduated as a veterinarian in 2020 and obtained his PhD in veterinary sciences in 2024 at the Department of Internal Diseases, Reproduction, and Population Medicine (Ghent University). His research focused on the management of bovine respiratory diseases on beef and dairy farms, ultimately leading to the development of a step-by-step approach to manage BRD in practice, based on biomarkers, clinical data, and ultrasound findings. After obtaining his PhD, Thomas dedicated himself to designing and conducting scientific trials.
Prof. Bart Pardon
Co-founder:
Prof. Dr. Bart Pardon is affiliated with UGent within the field of internal medicine of large domestic animals and head of the department 'internal diseases' of the ruminant veterinary clinic. He sees this project as a unique opportunity to translate years of research into practice on a large scale, and to ensure that new research is immediately applicable.
Dr. Stan Jourquin
Co-founder:
Stan graduated as a veterinarian in 2020 and completed a PhD in bovine internal medicine at Ghent University in 2024, specializing in calf health. His research focused on the on-farm application of quick thoracic ultrasound (qTUS) for diagnosing pneumonia in calves. Stan's work aimed to enhance practitioners' diagnostic skills and establish qTUS as a valuable tool for evaluating treatment and vaccine efficacy under field conditions.
